Weather: Sunny blue skies and high temperatures can be expected most of the year. There isn’t much rainfall in the emirate either. Temperatures range from a low of around 13C (50F) on a winter's night, to a high of around 42C (118F) on a summer's day. The most pleasant time to visit is between November and April, when temperatures are around 24C (75F) during the day and 13C (56F) at night. In the winter the sun rises between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM and sets between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The sun can rise as early as 5:30 AM in the summer and sets around 7:00 PM. Abu Dhabi has on average 10 to 12 hours of sunlight each day.

Currency: The local currency is the UAE dirham (AED or Dhs).
Most shops, hotels and restaurants in Abu Dhabi accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.). It is wise to check before you order or purchase anything if there is no visible sign of card acceptance.

Voltage: In Abu Dhabi, type G plugs and sockets are the official standard. Like the rest of the Arabian Peninsula, Abu Dhabi has standardized on the British plug and outlet system.

Customs / VISA: Abu Dhabi visas are available for free on arrival for many nationalities. Citizens of other countries can apply for a visa prior to their trip. For more information abudhabiairport.ae. We recommend that you check in at least three hours before your flight, then head to our US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility at least one hour before. The facility is located in Terminal 3, next to gates 58 – 61. When you complete your preclearance process, your US entry date on your passport will be the date you depart from Abu Dhabi. The steps you need to take before you use our CBP facility depend on your visa type.
